EEG Research

A complete range of Hardware with various Amplifiers upto 256 channels, including amplifiers for recording EEG and / or EMG within the MR environment. Software for recording, post processing and online processing and correction of the data is also available. Caps, suitable for all kinds of applications, in various sizes are offered to best suit research needs. In addition to conventional passive electrodes, we offer ActiCaps – active electrode caps system with Impedance measurement right at the electrode, displayed using an LED. Dry electrodes based on this active electrodes technology is available and especially suited for BCI and Neurofeedback. EEG Source Analysis

BESA is the most widely used software for source analysis and dipole localization in EEG and MEG research. BESA Research is a highly versatile software with optimized tools and scripts to preprocess raw or averaged data for source analysis and connectivity analysis. All important aspects of source analysis are displayed in one window for immediate selection of a wide range of tools. The same holds true for the source coherence / time-frequency module, and other analysis windows. BESA Research provides fast and easy hypothesis testing, a variety of source analysis algorithms including cortical imaging and volume imaging methods, integration with MRI and fMRI, age-appropriate template head models (FEM) as well as the possibility to import individual head models (FEM) generated by BESA MRI 2.0.

EEG-fMRI is a multimodal neuroimaging technique which enables the acquisition of EEG and fMRI data synchronously. The technique is being used worldwide to evaluate normal brain function as well as brain function associated with recognized brain disorders.

Scalp EEG reflects the brain‘s electrical activity, more specifically it represents post-synaptic potentials in the cerebral cortex. fMRI detects haemodynamic changes throughout the brain known as the BOLD effect (Blood Oxygen Level Dependent). EEG-fMRI therefore enables the direct correlation of these two important measures of brain activity.

Stim Tracker


EEG (or ERP) recording during TMS stimulation is an important technique providing support in the determination of cognitive processes, but it is also a well known technically challenging task. TMS stimulation induces a very strong electrical field that can saturate the recording amplifiers for a long duration. Furthermo­re, even if the amplifier does not reach saturation point, the TMS pulse induces an artifact in the EEG data that can last for hundreds of milliseconds.
