fNIRS + EEG Integration: Cortivision & Brain Products

A Comprehensive View of Brain Activity Cortivision and Brain Products have joined forces to combine functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and electroencephalography (EEG). This fusion seamlessly integrates the remarkable spatial precision of hemodynamics (fNIRS) with the high temporal resolution of electrophysiology (EEG), capturing electrical changes at the millisecond level. This multimodal approach delivers a more precise and robust understanding of neural activity than relying on either method in isolation. Flexible Hardware Configurations Our integrated solutions support active gel-based sensors co-registered within the actiCAP slim/snap system (accommodating 34-64 cm head circumferences). Researchers can tailor their setup to their specific environment with scalable EEG channel options (8, 16, 32, or 64 channels):. LiveAmp (Mobile & Wireless): A lightweight, wearable harness system perfect for real-world experiments, sports sciences, and non-stationary conditions, allowing for complete participant freedom., actiCHamp Plus (Stationary): A high-performance laboratory amplifier designed for advanced, high-density stationary research setups. Flawless Synchronization and Applications Precise, real-time alignment of fNIRS and EEG data streams is ensured through full integration with the Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) protocol. This highly synchronized, multimodal system is tailored to advance research in several key areas:. Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI): Providing a robust platform for decoding complex neural signals., VR & Multimodal Studies: Enabling immersive research in virtual reality for neuroergonomics, UX, and training studies., Child & Developmental Studies: Offering safe, non-invasive, and comfortable monitoring for young, active participants, including mother-child hyperscanning paradigms.
