MICRODEEP® SEEG ELECTRODES

Dixi depth electrodes (Microdeep®) are thin, multi-contact wires implanted into the brain for Stereo Electro Encephalography (SEEG). They help diagnose drug-resistant epilepsy by recording and stimulating brain activity to precisely locate seizure origins. They can also be used for radiofrequency ablation to treat the seizures.

• This is their primary line of depth electrodes for SEEG
• Used to accurately locate and map epileptic foci (the areas of the brain where seizures originate)
• Helps in identifying eloquent brain areas (those responsible for critical functions like language or movement) to avoid damaging them during surgery
• They feature multiple contacts along their length to record electrical activity from various brain regions.
• Available with a range of contacts, typically from 5 to 18 contacts.
• Each electrode is for single patient use and delivered sterile.
• Designed to prevent electrode movement, ensure a good seal, and serve as a depth marker.
